Our story
Since 2008
Sunshine Coast Elite Surf Coaching was founded in 2008 by Brad Lee and Jeff Previti. Brad began coaching as a school teacher in the early 80s, and Jeff joined him as a coach in the Coolum High Surf Excellence Program after moving to the Sunshine Coast from the USA.
Together they built a coaching program for boardriding clubs, schools and competitive surfers, working with surfers who went on to the World Surf League, including World Championship Tour surfer Isabella Nichols.
Today the business is led by director and head coach Tomas Kriz, an ASI Level 3 surf coach, professional lifeguard with Surf Life Saving Queensland and Peregian Beach local with more than 10 years of coaching experience. Jeff still joins us for selected coaching events, including our Heat Analysis days.
The philosophy hasn't changed: quality over quantity. Small groups, the same coach every session, and coaching that moves your surfing forward, from your first wave to competition level.

Who founded Sunshine Coast Elite Surf Coaching?

Are you accredited?
Yes. We are an ASI accredited surf school and all of our coaches are ASI accredited instructors.
Do you teach beginners?
Yes. Beginners are welcome. Our speciality is taking intermediate and advanced surfers to the next level.
Lessons
How big are the groups?
A maximum of 5 surfers per coach, so you get the coach time you deserve.
Where do you coach?
We are a roaming surf school. We coach from Peregian Beach to Sunshine Beach and choose the best spot for the day's conditions.
