TELOS

SURF TRIP | 2026

7 nights in the Telos Islands, one of Indonesia’s last true frontiers. A luxurious and intimate surf escape, fronting one of the most beautiful beaches in the entire archipelago. Uncrowded, pristine waves in every direction, incredible fishing and a resort where the experience is personal, flexible, and built entirely around scoring waves.

Date: 2026

Location: Telos, North Sumatra / Indonesia

Event Type: 7 Day Surf Trip

Skill Level: ‘Adv Intermediate’ - ‘Advanced’

LOCATION

Telos Islands, North Sumatra

Sitting 10 km below the equator, 70 km south of Nias and 100 km north of the Mentawais, the Telos are the definition of solitude and natural beauty. No chaos, no crowds, no rush, just crystal water, jungle-wrapped islands, empty beaches, and a slow rhythm that feels untouched by time.

Being perfectly placed in the middle of the region gives us freedom to easily explore. The northern and southern Telos react almost opposite to one another with regard to wind, so while most places are locked into one zone, we can choose whichever side is firing that day.

Life here is simple: warm water, friendly locals, sunsets that feel unreal, and nature everywhere you look. Remote, peaceful, authentic — the Telos are still beautifully raw.

THE WAVES

There are too many waves to list… And a few we prefer not to… More quality setups than you could surf in a month, and often no one else around.

Within minutes from the resort you have multiple world-class options and many more as you go a bit further.

Because we work to nature’s schedule, not a resort timetable, every day is tailored to scoring. Our guides read both the conditions and the abilities of every guest, making sure each session matches what you’re chasing. Whether that’s your dream barrel, a mellow point, or a quiet corner.

Our surf guides know these islands intimately, the moods of each reef, how swells bend through each chain of islets, and where to find perfection for all levels, including longboard-friendly walls when you want them.

ACCOMODATION

Welcome to one of the most beautiful, intimate surf resorts in the Telos, peaceful, beachfront, and designed for comfort after long sessions. Whether you choose a Standard Villa or a Deluxe Villa, you’ll stay just steps from the sand with ocean breezes, stunning views, and the perfect balance of simplicity and luxury.

Standard Villas

We offer three east-facing Standard Villas, each only 15 metres from the water and a short stroll to the restaurant and bar.
Every villa includes:

  • A large 8 × 3m covered balcony overlooking the beach

  • Three separate bedrooms with queen four-poster beds and ceiling fans

  • A spacious tiled bathroom with hot water & western facilities

  • Elevated 2.7m off the ground for airflow and ocean breezes

  • Hammocks upstairs and below for peak relaxation

  • A board rack underneath for easy quiver access

Your doorstep snorkel spot is unreal, and sunrise views from your balcony are something you’ll remember forever.

Deluxe Villas

For upgraded comfort, we offer two architect-designed Deluxe Villas on the west side of the property, beside the beachfront infinity pool and bar, facing the open ocean. These villas are styled with imported linens and finished with elevated ceilings and insulated roofs for cool, quiet sleep. Each has an 8 × 3m ocean-view deck perfect for sunset watching.

  • The Days

Expect full days of surfing and chasing waves. If conditions aren’t great we can; explore the island, hang out by the pool, watch surf edits to get us fired up, play a few games of pool, we can even check out some local water falls or the nearby town.

    The Culture

You’ll be immersed in the Simeulue Island culture. The Simeulue people are happy, welcoming, and deeply connected to their island. They are practicing Muslims, with daily prayers and mosques in every town. Life moves slow and simple, centered on family, community, and religion.

As visitors we need to respect their culture and religious beliefs.

    Dress Code

Simeulue people maintain very strong Muslim beliefs. Therefore we are respectfully asked to dress moderately (arms, chest and knees covered) when outside the resort grounds.  Therefore it means no bikini, or tank tops when out in town.

For surfing, we recommend men wear board shorts and a shirt “if you like”. Women either a one piece swimsuit with long tights, or board shorts with a rash shirt. We can arrange boat trips to secluded islands where dress code is not an issue.

    Alcohol

Alcohol in some areas is illegal to be consumed. If you intend to bring duty free it can only be enjoyed inside your accommodation.

    Extras

There will be a surf photographer with us everyday. If you want to keep your videos and photos from the trip you can purchase a photo and video package separately.
